Description

1928-S Quarter, MS67+ Full Head
Tied Finest at PCGS
Ex: Just Having Fun

1928-S 25C MS67+ Full Head PCGS. CAC. Ex: Just Having Fun. A bevy of subtle hues coat the light-russet surfaces of this stunning Registry-grade 1928-S, ranging from sage-green to blue-green to sunrise-yellow to russet-brown, dappled in a dazzling array across both sides. Bold sharpness characterizes each side, including a sharp temple on Liberty's head, with just a touch of non-detrimental softness near the ear. Above-average shield rivet definition and a strong leading edge on the eagle's left (facing) wing further set this piece apart from the majority of its peers. Light die clashing is as usual.
Just under 20% of PCGS certifications qualify for Full Head classification, and most reside in MS66 and lower grades. This Superb Gem example is tied for the finest certified at PCGS, as well as finest among CAC-stickered pieces, ranking it among the top-tier options for Registry Set collectors. We have previously handled only a single Plus-designated Superb Gem Full Head piece, which was NGC-certified. This is the sole finest PCGS Full Head coin we have ever offered. PCGS Population: 33 in 67 (7 in 67+), 0 finer (3/26). CAC: 19 in 67, 0 finer (3/26).
