1930-S Standing Liberty Quarter, MS68 Full Head
Tied With One Other as Finest Known

1930-S 25C MS68 Full Head NGC. Out of more than 1.5 million Standing Liberty quarters struck at the San Francisco Mint in 1930, a mere two have been graded MS68 Full Head, both of them by NGC (11/13). This MS68 Full Head example displays light and dappled blue and canary-yellow hues cover on the majority of the obverse, yielding to a crescent of green-gold and umber at bottom right. The richness of the last hue is a match for the reverse, where saturated versions of the other colors take center stage. Beneath the generous toning is an immensely lustrous and carefully preserved coin with strong head detail.(Registry values: N4719) (NGC ID# 2446, PCGS# 5781)

I received the catalog and was very impressed with its color illustrations, descriptions and attractive layout. (It has better production values than the New York houses.)
