Description
Victoria 5 Cents 1873, KM-10, key date, mintage of 60,000 pieces this year, and most perished long ago or were spent nearly smooth. Interested bidders should review our history of this piece as given under Lot 52965 in our auction #425, volume 2 of our January 2007 NYI sale, to appreciate the ravages which this tiny coin survived. The present specimen is AU and would be choice but for three heavy scratches on its reverse (and a small one under the bust truncation), but the portrait is a visual treat, as is the lovely iridescent bluish gray toning.
