Description
Victoria 50 Cents 1890H, KM13, a VF for issue. An unusual coin, in that this has the raised outer rim that we often see on Proof striking's. This happens from the increased pressure of the strike, so some of the metal 'squeezes' out. The raised rim is intact even with obvious circulation. So what did the coin look like at striking? It has the broad flat rim that is usually found on this date of the Heaton mint issue. Any other date we would have thought this was a circulated Proof. From the Dr. Patrick Tan Collection.
