Description

Victoria Cent 1872-H, KM9, MS61 BN NGC, first year of the copper Cent issue, this one pleasing with chocolate brown surfaces, almost no abrasions, sharp strike all around. Almost all of the initial mintages of the SS coins were sizable but the climate was brutal, turning copper and bronze into ugly messes in no time at all, and the coins were made to satisfy needs of merchants, meaning that few were ever saved for collectors. All are scarce today, with many rarities sprinkled among this interesting colonial coinage.

Metal: Copper
Diameter: 28.80mm
Weight: 9.3g
Mintage: 5,770,000
