Description

Geneva. Canton 10 Francs 1851 MS62 NGC, KM138, Dav-374, HMZ-2-1342a, Richter-571. Mintage: 1000. By Antoine Bovy. We offer here one of the most sought-after and enticing entries in the Swiss Shooting taler series, pleasing to the eye and numismatically fascinating. Despite the appearance of this issue being a legal tender 10 Francs, this example was issued before the federal mint had become fully operational, so it was used as a prize for the 1851 Geneva Shooting Festival.
