Description

Obwalden. Half-Canton gold Restrike Ducat 1787-Dated (c. 1860) AU Details (Removed From Jewelry) NGC, KM46 (under Unterwalden), Fr-351, HMZ-2-731k. Official Restrike. Coin alignment. Mintage: 150. A very rare gold emission from this historically complex "half" canton, preserved in what appears to be rather nice condition for the type despite some minor abrasions and flan imperfections. Despite the noted removal from jewelry, no prominent signs of mount removal are noticeable, some raggedness to the edges perhaps suggesting use in a bezel.
