Confederation nickel Specimen Uniface 20 Francs ND (1897) SP64 PCGS, Bern mint, KM-TS1. Mintage: 3. An undated test strike done in nickel for the gold 20 Francs with a superbly-struck image of Helvetia sheathed in satin and reflective fields that host a few limiting marks. This second test strike is likely in response to criticism that arose from the original, which featured the addition of a forelock and the mountain backdrop--features that were deemed unrepresentative of the Swiss, the majority of whom lived in the plains. It appears a compromise was achieved, as the 20 Franc would go on to have the mountain imagery behind, but the forelock was omitted.
