    Choice About Uncirculated

(1837-1842) $2 1/2 C. Bechtler Quarter Eagle, 64 G. Uneven 22 C. AU55 PCGS. K-11, R.6. Among the Southern gold-producing states during the 1830s and 1840s, Georgia's was of the highest purity. This Choice About Uncirculated GEORGIA GOLD Bechtler quarter eagle features distinctively uneven digits in the carat punch, differentiating this variety from the scarcer K-12 variant. As usual, a few die breaks are seen, including one from the rim through the T in BECHTLER. Coloration is light yellow-gold, and each side displays strong devices with little evidence of high-point rub. Myriad marks are noted throughout. Listed on page 393 of the 2019 Guide Book.
