1854 $20 Kellogg & Co. Twenty Dollar AU50 NGC. Long Arrows, K-2,
R.4. The well-regarded firm of Kellogg & Co. issued gold coins
in early 1854 to fill the gap between the closure of the United
States Assay Office in December 1853 and the opening of the San
Francisco Mint in 1854. This Impressive twenty dollar piece shows
some light wear on the strongly impressed design elements and the
moderately abraded orange-gold surfaces retain traces of original
mint luster. This coin will be a welcome addition to a fine
collection of Territorial Gold. Listed on page 401 of the 2026
