1855 Kellogg Twenty, K-3b, AU Details1855 $20 Kellogg & Co. Twenty Dollar -- Cleaning -- Genuine PCGS. AU Details. K-3b, R.5. Short Arrows, O of CO in hair. The surfaces are a tad overbright from the noted cleaning but there is still much eye appeal present, the product of the wealth of detail remaining on each side. There are some small to medium marks scattered about, and a small "173" is scratched into the reverse, to the left of the shield. The Kellogg twenties of 1855 were among the last Gold Rush issues from private minters, as San Francisco had already opened its mint and that facility was slowly filling the void for gold coinage. Listed on page 387 of the 2013 Guide Book.
