    Description

1855 Kellogg & Co. Twenty, AU Details
    K-3b Short Arrows Type

1855 $20 Kellogg & Co. Twenty Dollar--Improperly Cleaned--NGC Details. AU. K-3b, R.5. A well detailed example of this scarce variety, with unnaturally bright greenish-gold surfaces. These popular twenty dollar pieces were struck to the tune of 300,000 examples from early 1854 through 1855. The 1855 dated twenties were probably produced by Augustus Humbert, who replaced Richter in the Kellogg operation around this time.
