1861 Clark, Gruber & Co. Five, Fine 12
    A Collectible K-6 Example

1861 $5 Clark, Gruber & Co. Five Dollar Fine 12 NGC. K-6, R.4. Ex: S. M. Damon Collection. An original yellow-gold example of this scarce territorial gold issue that gives off a subtle greenish cast. Fairly good detail for the grade, with part of the E in and all of the S in PIKES showing, and boldness in the letters PEAK. Both sides are quite clean for a moderately circulated coin. Listed on page 406 of the 2017 Guide Book.
Ex: Central States Signature (Heritage, 5/2007), lot 4456.
