    Description

Scarce Restrike Proof Kellogg Fifty Dollar

1855 $50 Kellogg & Co. Fifty Dollar Restrike Gem Proof PCGS. Struck August 28, 2001, with a tiny proof mintage of 50 pieces. This is the second lowest production of any date, behind only the 8/24 proof mintage of 25 pieces. This interesting relic medal was struck on a former San Francisco Mint coin press, and its gold alloy came from S.S. Central America Kellogg & Humbert ingots. Included with the lot is the canary-gold box of issue with its certificate of authenticity, mauve brochure, and glass-enclosed metal frame.
