Description

1865 Three Cent Nickel, MS67
Among the Finest-Certified Examples

1865 3CN MS67 NGC. The Philadelphia Mint struck a large production of more than 11.3 million three cent nickels in 1865, the year the denomination was introduced. Despite the substantial mintage, the issue is a prime condition rarity at the MS67 grade level. NGC has certified six coins in MS67, with none finer, while PCGS has graded five examples in MS67, also with none finer (10/23). This delightful Superb Gem exhibits sharply detailed design elements, with dramatic clash marks in the obverse field. The impeccably preserved surfaces are lustrous and appealing.(Registry values: N2998)
