Description

1868 3CN MS66+ PCGS. Although more than 3.2 million three cent nickels were struck in 1868, this issue is elusive in MS66 and is rare finer. This high-end Premium Gem displays satiny luster and light olive-gold toning. The upper-wreath branches show the only strike weakness. Inspection of the fields reveals parallel die polishing lines, more obvious on the reverse. Population: 59 in 66 (4 in 66+), 1 finer (7/18).(Registry values: N1793)
