1873 Three Cent Nickel, MS65
Scarce Open 3 Variety
1873 3CN Open 3 MS65 PCGS. CAC. Comprising about two thirds
of the total 1873 three cent nickel production, the Open 3 variety
is actually significantly rarer in Gem condition. This piece
exhibits pale lavender and ice-blue hues blended over softly
frosted luster on each side. The surfaces are free of any
detracting abrasions, while the devices are sharply impressed.
