1873 Open 3 Three Cent Nickel, MS66
Only Two Other Pieces So Graded
1873 3CN Open 3 MS66 NGC. The 1873 three cent nickel is a
surprising condition rarity. The mintage was a hefty 783,000
pieces, but in MS66 only two other pieces have been certified by
NGC and none by PCGS (7/12). This is an all-brilliant example that
is well struck with complete detailing on the ribbing on the Roman
numeral. The only flaw is a small grease stain that was struck into
the cheek of Liberty.(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 22NR, PCGS# 3740, GSID# 2776)
