1876 3CN MS66 PCGS. CAC. Pale-blue and lilac toning add eye appeal to the lustrous and frosty surfaces of this Premium Gem three cent nickel. Just 162,000 pieces were struck -- a steep decline from the previous year, yet just the beginning of a long fade in production until the end of the denomination. As always, the first numeral in the denomination is weak at the center (as are Liberty's curls), but the strike is crisp elsewhere. Any marks are microscopic. Tied for numeric finest at either service. Population: 13 in 66 (1 in 66+), 0 finer. CAC: 7 in 66, 0 finer (6/17).(Registry values: N2998)
