Incredible 1879 Three Cent Nickel, MS67
1879 3CN MS67 NGC. Only 38,000 three cent nickel business strikes were coined in 1879. The certified Mint State population is on the order of 230 specimens, primarily in the MS63 to MS66 range. The light gray surfaces of the present Superb Gem offering exhibit partially prooflike fields, somewhat more so on the reverse. Strong definition characterizes the design elements, including complete separation of the lines in the III. Incredibly preserved.
