Description
Premium Gem 1882 Three Cent Nickel
1882 3CN MS66 NGC. CAC. Although the mintage of three cent nickels exceeded 1 million pieces in 1881, by 1882 the denomination had resumed its low mintage ways. Only 22,200 business strikes were coined, along with the 3,100 proofs. The proofs are available today, but high grade business strikes are rare. This is a satiny and lightly toned Premium Gem with splendidly smooth surfaces. Census: 11 in 66, 1 finer (9/08).(Registry values: N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 275D, PCGS# 3750, GSID# 2783)
