Description

1885 Three Cent Nickel, MS65
CAC-Approved Condition Rarity

1885 3CN MS65 PCGS. CAC. Circulation strikes produced this year numbered only 1,000 coins, compared to almost 4,000 proof pieces, and the business strikes are seldom seen in higher Mint State grades than the present example. A medley of gray, sky-blue, lavender, and beige-gold patina resides on the lustrous surfaces of this gorgeous three cent nickel. A solid strike imparts strong definition to the design features, including all the lines in the Roman numeral III. Nicely cared-for surfaces are devoid of mentionable contact marks or spots. Housed in a green label holder. Population: 14 in 65, 19 finer. CAC: 8 in 65, 6 finer (3/24).
