Description
1889 Three Cent Nickel, MS67
Fully Struck and Uncommonly Lustrous
1889 3CN MS67 PCGS. CAC. This final year of issue for the
three cent nickel series went out with a whimper, only 18,125
pieces were struck for circulation. As a result, high grade
survivors are rarely encountered today, with PCGS having graded
only 10 other pieces in MS67 and none finer (at either service).
The surfaces are uncommonly lustrous with thick mint frost over
each side. The strike is complete, and both obverse and reverse
display rose and gray-lilac patina.(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 275J, PCGS# 3758, GSID# 2789)
