Description

Lustrous MS67 1889 Three Cent Nickel

1889 3CN MS67 PCGS. Final year for the type, but the 1889 is usually found as a proof. Only 18,100 pieces were struck for circulation, and this is one of the finest examples known. In fact, none are certified finer by either of the two major services. This is clearly a business strike, as it lacks any trace of reflectivity in the fields. Virtually untoned, the mint luster races around each side, and the striking details are fully defined throughout. Population: 10 in 67, 0 finer (12/07).(Registry values: N2998)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 275J, PCGS# 3758, Greysheet# 2789)

Weight: 1.94 grams

Metal: 75% Copper, 25% Nickel
