1885 Three Cent Nickel, AU55
Key to the Circulation-Strike Set
1885 3CN AU55 PCGS. CAC. The 1885 is one in a series of
low-mintage issues, though its 1,000-coin production is the
smallest among them. Indeed, it is the smallest total among all
three cent nickels. Examples are always in high demand as the key
to the circulation-strike set. This lightly circulated stone-gray
example features a strong strike with minimal merging over the
relief elements. A couple of marks occur on the denomination.
Lovely original surfaces. Population: 7 in 55, 68 finer. CAC: 1 in
