    Cameo Proof 1871 Five Cent Pattern, Judd-1050

    1871 Five Cents, Judd-1050, Pollock-1184, R.6, PR 66 NGC. The design elements that grace the regular issue three-cent nickel are also seen on the obverse of this coin. A laurel wreath encompasses the reversed V on the reverse. Struck in nickel with a plain edge, this coin is a little larger, 22mm as opposed to 20mm, than regular issue nickels. Radiant, frosted devices protrude boldly from the deeply reflective fields on this dazzlingly brilliant coin.
