    Description

1851-O Three Cent Silver, Lightly Toned MS65
The Sole Mintmarked Issue in the Series

1851-O 3CS MS65 PCGS. CAC. The importance of the 1851-O three cent silver is immediately apparent when one glances at the Guide Book: It is the only mintmarked issue in the series. While not especially scarce, there are never enough high-grade examples available for collectors who would like one for type purposes. This is a surprisingly well-struck example that displays light, even toning with strong underlying mint luster. Population: 58 in 65 (1 in 65+), 33 finer. CAC: 14 in 65, 17 finer (11/17).
Ex: Rosemont Signature (Heritage, 8/2013), lot 3269.
    From The E.B. Strickland Collection. (Registry values: N1793) (NGC ID# 22YY, PCGS# 3665)
