    Description

    1853 Three Cent Silver, MS67
    Stunning, Untoned Coin

1853 3CS MS67 PCGS. CAC. This tied-for-finest-certified Superb Gem 1853 three cent silver shows, interestingly, neither observable clash marks -- unusual for the series, though not unheard of -- nor much in the way of toning, the surfaces showing a frosty silver-gray texture with abundant luster. Only a couple of tiny orange-brown toning flecks dot the obverse. The strike is decent overall, less than full on a couple of star centers on the reverse but mostly well-detailed. The preservation, however, is stunning, a complete lack of observable post-Mint contact. Population: 11 in 67 (1 in 67+), 0 finer. CAC: 8 in 67, 0 finer (11/15).(Registry values: N2998) (NGC ID# 22Z2, PCGS# 3667)

    Weight: 0.80 grams

    Metal: 75% Silver, 25% Copper
