1854 3CS MS65 PCGS. CAC. This inaugural year of the Type Two design claims a relatively small mintage of 617,000 pieces, making this one of the scarcer issues with the double shield border. The obverse is well-defined, while the reverse shows a hint of softness on the olive leaves. Both sides are toned in delicate lavender and golden-gray hues. PCGS reports 16 finer grading events (3/18).
