Description

Satiny 1858 Three Cent Silver, MS65+

1858 3CS MS65+ PCGS Secure. This is a super type coin, with soft, satin luster radiating from the essentially pristine silver-gray surfaces. The 1858 three cent silver was the last of the Type Two issues, with two lines bordering the obverse star. Bold clash marks appear on each side, typical for the type. A tiny dark spot in the obverse shield is among the few picky distractions, but the PCGS Plus grade affirms the high quality. That service has certified 38 coins numerically finer (6/10).(Registry values: N2998)
