1858 Silver Three Cent, Toned MS67
Among the Finest Certified
1858 3CS MS67 NGC. The 1858 was the final silver three cent
piece with a mintage of more than 1 million coins (about 1.6
million pieces). Mint State examples are plentiful through MS64,
but are scarce finer; in MS67, the date is conditionally rare. This
Superb Gem representative displays satiny luster beneath mottled
shades of rose, gold, and sea-green toning. Moderately well-struck,
but a trifle weak on the high points of the shield. Census: 16 in
67 (3 in 67 ★ ), 0 finer (5/15).(Registry values: N4719)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 22Z7, PCGS# 3674, Greysheet# 3625)
