1859 3CS MS67 PCGS. The Type Three design was introduced in 1859, showing a single border around the star, new lettering, and smaller date digits. Three cent silver production fell dramatically from 1.6 million pieces in 1858 to 364,200 coins in 1859. Superb Gems are extremely rare. Clash marks occur in the fields on each side of this all-brilliant Registry candidate. Effectively devoid of post-Mint imperfections. Population: 5 in 67, 1 finer (8/16).(Registry values: N2998)
