Unsurpassable Superb Gem 1862/1 3 Cent Silver
1862/1 3CS MS67 PCGS. The overdate on this example is very easy to see. Both sides are lightly toned with satin luster and glowing fields. Small amounts of streaky and dappled tan and russet patina appear on each side, along with a few die striations (as struck) in the fields. This sharply struck Superb Gem belongs in a high quality collection of three cent silver. Popular both as an overdate and a Civil War issue. None have been graded any higher by either of the major services. Population: 11 in 67, 0 finer (4/03).Coin Index Numbers: (PCGS# 3681, Greysheet# 3641)
