    Rare Issue in High Grade

    1866 3CS MS65 PCGS. The 1866 three cent silver coin claims a mintage of just 22,000 pieces, and many examples were undoubtedly melted in 1873, when the denomination was discontinued. This attractive Gem is well-detailed, with obvious clash marks on both sides. Dusky shades of blue and champagne-gold toning enhance the lustrous surfaces. Population: 8 in 65, 17 finer (5/12).(Registry values: N1793)
