Description

1867 Three Cent Silver, Toned MS64
Low-Mintage Business Strike Date

1867 3CS MS64 PCGS. CAC. The challenge in the three cent silver series in the 1860s lies in the business strikes. They are rarely found compared to the proofs. Only 4,000 strikes were made for circulation in 1867 and PCGS has only certified 11 other pieces in MS64 with five finer (7/12). This example has almost crimson centers with deep blue around the margins. Well struck, but not completely brought up with the usual softness on the reverse, especially on the laurel wreath.(Registry values: N1793)
