Description

1867 Three Cent Silver, MS66
CAC-Approved in an Old NGC Holder
Few Known This Fine

1867 3CS MS66 NGC. CAC. With a mintage of only 4,000 coins and a low survival rate in high grade, the 1867 three cent silver is more often seen as a proof than in business strike format. This Premium Gem is virtually within the Condition Census, as any piece grading finer than MS64 is a distinct rarity. The coin shows expectedly reflective fields (a common characteristic of low-mintage issues) but with full design sharpness as well. The preservation is outstanding. Delicate aquamarine and pale pinkish hues blanket each side. Housed in a prior generation holder. Census: 2 in 66, 1 finer. CAC: 5 in 66, 3 finer (5/17).(Registry values: N2998)
