    1857 Three Cent Silver, MS66
    Scarce Type Two Design

    1857 3CS MS66 PCGS. The Type Two three cent silver was struck between 1854 and 1858, and is identified by a triple-outlined obverse star. Type One and Type Three examples respectively have one and two star outlines. Type collectors soon learn that the Type Two design is scarcest in Mint State. This lustrous and lightly toned Premium Gem is splendidly preserved, and held back in grade only by moderate blending of impression along the right-side borders. Population: 16 in 66 (2 in 66+), 2 finer (3/20).(Registry values: N2998)
