    1854-O Three Dollar Gold, AU50
    Single New Orleans Issue

1854-O $3 AU50 NGC. Variety 2. The 1854-O is popular as the only New Orleans issue in the series, although it is also a better date overall with a mintage of only 24,000 pieces, which circulated extensively. This AU example shows medium green-gold surfaces and light high-point wear. The fields are mostly smooth and appealing. Variety 2 is the lapped die state of the only known die pairing and represents most of the coins seen.(Registry values: N2998) (NGC ID# 25M5, PCGS# 7971)

    Weight: 5.02 grams
