Description
Glowing 1855 Three Dollar, MS64
1855 $3 MS64 PCGS. The 1855 three dollar, coming off of a mintage of 50, 555 circulation strikes, is available through the MS62 level of preservation. Select examples are more challenging, near-Gems quite scarce, and Gem-quality pieces are extremely rare. The near-Gem coin presented in this lot displays glowing luster radiating from peach-gold surfaces that are imbued with traces of mint-green. A well executed strike brings out sharp detail on the design features, save for minor softness on the bowknot. A few minor obverse ticks preclude full Gem classification. Population: 17 in 64, 4 finer (8/07).(Registry values: N4719)
