    Description

    1856 Three Dollar, MS61 PCGS

1856 $3 MS61 PCGS. The 1856, with a mintage of 26,010 business strikes, is only moderately scarce as a date. Strictly Uncirculated pieces, however, can be difficult to locate. The MS61 specimen presented here exhibits lustrous peach-gold surfaces. The design features are generally well impressed, although some weakness is visible in the hair over the ear and in the lower hair curls, as well as on the bowknot. Minute handling marks are seen on each side, particularly on Liberty's cheek and neck and in the left (facing) obverse field.(Registry values: N2998) (NGC ID# 25M8, PCGS# 7974)

    Weight: 5.02 grams

    Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper
