Description
1857 Three Dollar, MS62+
Wonderful Lilac-Highlighted Example
1857 $3 MS62+ NGC. Even, yellow-gold surfaces are
highlighted with lilac around the lettering. Outlines of all
strands of hair are present, although the reverse wreath presents
some weakness. The surfaces exhibit light abrasions, although none
are individually distracting, and some are instead the result of
die striations, which are common on this issue. The 1857 three has
an average mintage for the decade and denomination, although it
would be considered scarce for a more prolific series.(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25MA, PCGS# 7976, GSID# 8630)
