1860 $3 MS61 ANACS. Crisply detailed on the portrait with bright lemon-gold luster. Though a few wispy abrasions are present in the fields, the overall eye appeal is stronger than the MS61 designation might suggest. By 1860, a lack of demand for the three dollar gold denomination was apparent, and just 7,036 business strikes were coined, with a substantial minority of those melted at the Mint.(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25ME, PCGS# 7980, GSID# 8633)
