Description
Elusive 1862 Select Three Dollar
1862 $3 MS63 PCGS. David Bowers, in his three dollar gold reference book, says the 1862 issue is very elusive in all grades, and estimates 30 to 40 Mint State coins to be extant. Peach-gold surfaces display partially prooflike fields, especially on the reverse. A sharp strike is seen throughout, and a handful of minute marks define the grade.
