Choice XF 1865 Three Dollar
Mintage of Only 1,140 Pieces
1865 $3 XF45 NGC. The 1865 is one of the best-known,
low-mintage rarities in a series filled with such coins. Only 1,140
coins were struck for circulation. Of that number it is estimated
that today a total of 82-115 examples are known in all grades. This
piece shows even wear over the high points and in the fields. The
only marks of any consequence are in the obverse fields. Reddish
