Challenging Low-Mintage Issue
1869 $3 AU58 NGC. The 1869 is a better date with a scant
business mintage of only 2,500 pieces. The issue is elusive in
near-Mint condition. This sun-gold representative retains
substantial semiprooflike luster. The motifs are frosty, and
although minor marks are scattered, only a solitary thin line on
the reverse exergue merits passing mention. Census: 49 in 58, 32
