    Description

    1870 Three Dollar Gold, MS62
    Important Condition Rarity

1870 $3 MS62 NGC. Only 3,500 circulation strikes and 35 proofs were coined at Philadelphia in 1870. This survivor is a well-made Mint State example that shows no clash marks or die cracks. The attractive orange-gold surfaces exhibit faint bluish overtones. The devices are nicely detailed with frosty luster on a reflective, nearly prooflike background. This is a highly attractive example of an issue that is rarely encountered so fine. Census: 7 in 62, 6 finer (8/16).
From The Twelve Oaks Collection.(Registry values: N2998)
