Rare 1872 Three Dollar Gold, MS62
1872 $3 MS62 NGC. One of the major rarities in the three dollar gold series, from a mintage of just 2,000 coins. Mint State examples are seldom encountered. Both sides have full prooflike fields, despite the lack of the PL designation. The obverse has a small bulge at 7 o'clock, and the reverse has die polish in the field over the wreath.
