    Description

    1873 Closed 3 Three Dollar
    XF Sharpness, Rare Variety

1873 $3 Closed 3 -- Repaired -- PCGS Genuine. XF Details. The business mintage of the 1873 Closed 3 is unknown but undoubtedly very low. The PCGS Population report lists at least one example in each grade between XF45 and MS64, but the combined total is just 69 pieces. The present piece has unusual olive-green color. Obverse smoothing affects the peripheries of several letters in UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, and the dentils near 8:30 have a blurry appearance.(Registry values: N2998)

    Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25MW, PCGS# 7995)

    Weight: 5.02 grams
