Description
Frosty 1878 Three Dollar Gold, MS62
1878 $3 MS62 NGC. The 1878 is the most frequently encountered date in the three dollar series, and it is also generally the best looking coin for type purposes. The typical example displays rich, frosted mint luster and light pinkish patina, as seen on this piece. Striking details tend to vary on 1878s, and this piece lacks complete highpoint definition; however, that weakness was undoubtedly considered when this piece was graded.(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25MZ, PCGS# 8000, GSID# 8649)
