Vibrant MS62 1878 Three Dollar
1878 $3 MS62 NGC. A whopping 82,304 examples were struck of the 1878 three dollar gold, the largest output in the entire 35-year series. As a result, more high grade survivors are known of this year than any other. This piece shows the usual pleasing mint frost, and each side displays light reddish patina. Lightly abraded for the most part, except for a short mark to the right of the bottom of the 3 on the reverse.(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25MZ, PCGS# 8000, GSID# 8649)
